Recombia Biosciences
Lei is a Research Scientist at Recombia Biosciences. Prior to joining Recombia, he was a synthetic biology lead scientist at Archer Daniels Midland working on engineering yeast for organic acid production. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering from SUNY at Buffalo, where he worked on the metabolic engineering of E. coli for the production of natural products.
Recombia Biosciences
Yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) has been used by humans for brewing and baking for thousands of years. More recently, this handy microorganism has been used as a “cell factory” to produce therapeutics and commodity chemicals at scale. Recombia Bio’s technologies enhance this process, by optimizing yeast through genome editing to address specific industrial manufacturing challenges and bottlenecks.
