Derek Korpela DVM, PhD

Derek Korpela DVM, PhD has worked in a variety of roles since 2011. In 2011 and 2012, they were a Veterinarian at Stillwater Veterinary Clinic and Banfield Pet Hospital, respectively, where they saw a wide variety of cases and placed an emphasis on building lasting and trusting relationships with their clientele. In 2019, they were a Study Director Scientist at American Preclinical Services, LLC. In 2020, they were a Research Scientist at Boston Scientific. In 2021, they are a Research Scientist at Recombinetics.

Derek Korpela DVM, PhD began their education in 2004, earning a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in Genetics and Cellular Biology from the University of Minnesota. Derek then attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota, graduating with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. In 2014, Derek returned to the University of Minnesota to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Comparative and Molecular Biosciences, which they completed in 2019.
