Shiraz Dhanani

Shiraz Dhanani has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, currently serving as Advisor and Geophysical Consultant and as a Director at Reconnaissance Energy Africa Ltd. since February 2020. Dhanani previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Tafiti Oil Limited from September 2018 to August 2021 and served as CEO at Voyageur Oil & Gas Corporation from February 2010 to October 2017, overseeing technical evaluations and successful exploration drilling in Tunisia. Dhanani's career includes significant roles at BP, where responsibilities ranged from Technical Director in Libya to various positions focusing on geoscience and operations from 1990 to 2009. Experience also includes a tenure as Senior Geophysicist at ExxonMobil and an early career as a geophysicist at Imperial Oil. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Physics/Geophysics from the University of Sussex and a Post-graduate Diploma in Development Studies from the University of Bath.
