Recovery School District
Nathan Schwam has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Nathan began their career at Abrams Artists Agency in 1988, where they worked in Business Affairs for nearly two decades. In this role, they handled various legal and business-related matters. In 2008, Nathan joined the Recovery School District as the Executive Director of Grants, Funding Integration & Closeout. Here, they managed a complex $1.6+ billion school building program funded by FEMA, HUD, and other governmental grants.
Nathan Schwam received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from Tulane University, where they attended from 1978 to 1983. Nathan then pursued further education and obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Corporate Finance from USC Marshall School of Business between 1986 and 1988.

Recovery School District
The Recovery School District is a special school district administered by the Louisiana Department of Education. Created by legislation passed in 2003, the RSD is designed to take underperforming schools and transform them into successful places for children to learn.
