Dawn Carlson has a diverse work experience in graphic design. Dawn currently holds the role of Graphic Designer at Recruitics since 2021. Previously, they worked as a freelance Graphic Designer for various companies including Variety, Vrai, Cedars-Sinai, Lehman Millet, Cole Creative, and several startup clients from 2015 to 2021. In this role, they designed marketing materials, slide decks, logos, websites, infographics, icons, Powerpoint presentations, brochures, and other branding systems. Dawn also created customized WordPress sites using CSS.

Before that, Dawn worked as a Digital Graphic Designer on a freelance basis for VRAI in 2020, where they designed digital marketing assets for an e-commerce luxury jewelry brand. Dawn created emails, social ads, web and landing page assets, icons, gifs, and slide decks. Dawn also retouched product/model images and edited videos.

In 2020, Dawn also freelanced as a Graphic Designer for Variety, where they designed editorial layouts for a Hollywood national award-winning magazine. Dawn self-managed assignments in entertainment and lifestyle while assisting the team with overflow.

Prior to their freelance work, Dawn held the position of Senior Graphic Designer at The Hollywood Reporter from 2019 to 2020. In this role, they designed editorial layouts, conceptual collages, infographics, and commissioned illustrations. Dawn collaborated with top editors and photographers to visually communicate editorial content and optimized assets for online content.

From 2015 to 2018, Dawn worked as a Graphic Designer at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, where they designed educational materials for integrated curricula. Dawn created infographics, icons, logos, textbooks, book covers, posters, and games with a focus on learning and fun. Dawn collaborated with designers, editors, and marketers across multiple cities and countries.

Earlier in their career, Dawn served as a Graphic Designer at Media Index Publishing from 2010 to 2015. Here, they designed content for various magazines on both the editorial and marketing sides. Dawn communicated with clients to create digital and print ads while overseeing the design and production of a monthly magazine from start to finish.

Dawn Carlson pursued their education by enrolling in a Continuing Education Course at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2017. The course they opted for was focused on Advanced Interactive Projects. Prior to that, they attended the School of Visual Concepts, where they studied graphic design. Additionally, Dawn completed their Bachelor's Degree in fine art at UW Madison.
