Alba MacIas

Alba Macias is an accomplished professional in the field of computational drug design, currently serving as the Director at Recursion since November 2024 and previously held the same title at Exscientia until November 2024. With extensive experience at Vernalis as a Principal Scientist from January 2006 to January 2022, Alba's work contributed to patents and publications in oncology, anti-infectives, and CNS, alongside collaborations with pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions. Earlier roles include Senior Scientist at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and a Postdoctoral Fellowship focusing on Computational-Aided Drug Design. Alba earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry and a B.S. in Mathematics and Chemistry from the University of Miami, along with a Certificate of Higher Education in Genetics from the University of Cambridge.
