Ryan started their career as a Web Designer and Media Specialist at the University of Minnesota Duluth's International Education Office in 2006. Ryan then worked as a Graphic Design Intern at the Tweed Museum of Art, where they focused on promoting and enhancing the museum's materials. In 2010, Ryan interned as a Graphic and Web Design Intern at KUMD Radio, where they designed marketing materials to expand the station's audience.

Following their internships, Ryan joined 50 Below, Web Solutions as a Senior Web Designer and Design Quality Assurance, where they focused on designing websites for various industries and ensuring the quality of department work. In 2012, they became a Graphic Designer at Black Bear Casino Resort, where they created design collateral for in-house marketing and large-scale events promotion.

From 2014 to 2018, Ryan worked as a Creative Designer at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, where they developed advertising concepts, collaborated with motion graphics teams, and executed advertising packages that aligned with the Mystic brand.
