Nadia Al-Tamimi

R&D Project Manager at Red Sea Farms

Nadia Al-Tamimi has a wealth of work experience, starting with a BSc Biochemistry final year project at the Medical Research Council in 2011. In 2012, they were a UCAS days volunteer at University College London and also attended the Enterprise Boot Camp. In 2014, they began their PhD at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, where they also served as a Graduate Student Council Member, SRSI Co-mentor, and Arabic Tutor. In 2015, they were a Visiting PhD Student at the Australian Plant Phenomics Facility- The Plant Accelerator. In 2017, they were a Research Collaborator at Africa Rice Center and an Affiliate PhD Thesis Research Scholar at the International Rice Research Institute. In 2020, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at University College Dublin and in 2021 they became a R&D Project Manager at Red Sea Farms. Currently, they are a Consultant/Core Team Member for Greening KSA at KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology), CDA. In this role, they are conducting benchmarking, SWOT and PESTELE analyses of afforestation programs and existing technologies, developing strategies and outlining an implementation plan for optimized, sustainable and ecologically viable increase of the vegetative footprint of the KSA, and outlining what species to plant where, when, and why.

Nadia Al-Tamimi's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry from UCL, which they completed between 2009 and 2012. Nadia then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Bioscience from KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology), which they completed in 2014. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Plant Sciences from KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology).
