Lionel Thienpont has a diverse work experience. Lionel co-founded Red Sky Foods in 2021 and oversees operations. Prior to that, they worked at Disperse from 2018 to 2021, holding various roles including Head of Product, Head of Special Projects, Head of Projects, and Venture Developer. From 2014 to 2017, they served as a Superintendent Dredging & Offshore Works at Jan De Nul. In 2013, they worked on their Master's Thesis at Betafence.
Lionel Thienpont completed their high school education in Mathematics - Sciences at Abdijschool van Zevenkerken from 2003 to 2009. Lionel then pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at KU Leuven from 2009 to 2014. In 2017, they attended INSEAD and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. In addition to their formal education, Lionel Thienpont has obtained several certifications, including a Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) from the University of Cambridge, Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) from STC SAIO Offshore, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) from the British Council, Supervisor Leadership course, and VOL-VCA: Safety for Operational Supervisors from BeSaCC-VCA.
