Madhura Deshpande

Madhura Deshpande is an accomplished technology professional with extensive experience in engineering leadership and software development. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering, Safety at Reddit, Inc. since March 2017, Madhura has previously held positions including Sr Engineering Manager and Engineering Manager within the company's Trust and Safety division. Prior to Reddit, Madhura founded ruchil.ly, a food-tech startup connecting hobby chefs with individuals seeking authentic regional cuisines. Experience at Gooru involved managing distributed agile teams and leading engineering initiatives focused on performance and reliability. Madhura's earlier roles include Sr. Software Engineer at LeapFrog, where user interfaces for award-winning gaming systems were developed, as well as positions at Cartoon Network and Electronic Arts, focusing on game development and UI programming. Madhura holds a Master’s Degree in Entertainment Technology from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Shivaji University.
