Nicholas Barnes

Nicholas Barnes is a seasoned technology and engineering professional with extensive experience in cloud infrastructure and operations. Currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering at Redfin since October 2021, Nicholas has played a pivotal role in migrating Redfin and Rent into AWS. Prior to this, Nicholas held multiple leadership positions at SurveyMonkey, where responsibilities included expanding operations into the EU and significantly reducing costs through global infrastructure consolidation on AWS. Earlier career highlights include developing technical operations at The Walt Disney Company, providing IT support at Playdom and Apple, and working with digital audio systems in Los Angeles. Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Film & Video Production from Indiana University Bloomington and The Art Institute of California-Los Angeles.
