Bojan Djurkovic

Bojan Djurkovic has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of software development. Bojan started their career as a Software Developer at Natural Resources Canada in 2004. Bojan then worked at the Department of Training and Development as a Software Developer, where they developed an online system for the government's GED program in 2005. Bojan then joined CARIS as a Software Developer and worked on high-performance applications using C++ and MFC from 2006 to 2008.

In 2008, Bojan joined Chalk Media as a Software Developer and worked on developing Java-based mobile software for the BlackBerry platform. Bojan also worked on server-side components using C#/.NET and SQL. Bojan then joined Research In Motion in 2009 and primarily worked on the BlackBerry Payment Service that powered in-app purchases. Bojan also worked on BlackBerry Pushcast Software and BlackBerry Music Stores for smartphones and BlackBerry PlayBook.

In 2012, Bojan became a co-founder of OneLobby Social Media and served as a Lead Software Developer. Bojan was responsible for technical and product leadership, management of the development team, and recruitment efforts. Bojan was involved in all aspects of product development and architecture design using Node.js.

From 2014 to 2019, Bojan worked at Cvent, where they held the positions of Senior Software Engineer and later Lead Software Engineer. Bojan played a key role in the architecture, development, and operation of Cvent's cloud-based software, including Onsite Solutions. Bojan used technologies such as Node.js, JavaScript, Java, Couchbase, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, ElasticSearch, ReactJS, Docker, Jenkins, Chef, and others as required. Bojan also provided technical leadership and mentorship to junior software engineers and participated in recruitment efforts.

In 2016, Bojan took on a volunteer role as a Manuscript Reviewer at Manning Publications Co., where they reviewed manuscripts until 2021. Bojan then joined DigitalOcean in 2019 as a Software Engineer and later became a Senior Software Engineer. Bojan played a crucial role in building and scaling the developer-friendly Platform as a Service (PaaS) product using Go, Kubernetes, and other cloud-native technologies. Bojan implemented metrics collection for internal data plane components and customer applications, with customer metrics being exposed in the Cloud control panel dashboard.

Bojan is currently working as a Software Engineer at Redpanda Data since 2023.

Bojan Djurkovic attended the University of New Brunswick from 2001 to 2006, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering.
