Xu Zhang

Xu Zhang has extensive work experience in the technology industry, with a focus on software engineering. Xu is currently employed at Redpanda Data as a Software Engineer since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Lead Software Engineer at IBM from July 2016 to February 2023. Before joining IBM, Xu Zhang served as a Member of Technical Staff at BroadView Communications from December 2014 to July 2016. Xu also worked as an R&D Engineer at Nokia Siemens Networks from May 2011 to December 2014. Xu Zhang's earlier experience includes a long tenure at Motorola, where they held the position of Distinguished Member of Technical Staff from June 1997 to May 2011. At Motorola, their responsibilities included requirements and architecture creation for a 4G platform, Linux driver development, LTE eNodeB development, WiMAX CPE development, TLS connection router development, and iDEN Push-To-Talk call processing and mobility development.

Xu Zhang completed a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Notre Dame from 1995 to 1997. Xu also pursued a Master's degree in Engineering Physics at Tsinghua University; however, the start and end years are unknown. Furthermore, Xu Zhang obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from Tsinghua University, but the specific duration is also unknown.
