Ryan Smith

Ryan Smith has a range of work experience in risk management and leadership roles. Ryan currently works as a Risk Management Specialist II at Redwood Credit Union since September 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Risk Management Analyst II at County of Sonoma Human Resources from October 2020 to August 2021, where they managed liability, litigation, and insurance for multiple county departments. During their time there, they also played a key role in leading emergency response and rebuilding efforts after natural disasters, as well as managing the county's employee Covid-19 vaccination clinics.

Before their role at County of Sonoma, Ryan worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in various positions. Ryan served as a Regional Risk Manager from April 2019 to April 2020, overseeing risk management, loss prevention, and training for nearly 200 branch rental employees across 35 locations. Prior to that, they were a Regional Risk Supervisor from October 2012 to April 2019, responsible for managing risk, liability, and exposure through data analysis and training programs. Ryan also held the position of Branch Manager in East Oakland from May 2011 to October 2012, where they demonstrated strong leadership skills. Ryan started their career at Enterprise as a Management Trainee in September 2009 and gradually progressed to Assistant Manager.

Ryan's earlier experience includes working as an Assistant Manager at Sling It! Lacrosse Company from July 2008 to August 2009.

Ryan Smith attended San Ramon Valley High from 2000 to 2004. After completing high school, they went on to study at Biola University from 2004 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. Ryan has also obtained several certifications, including Credit Union Enterprise Risk Management Expert (CUERME) from CUNA Mutual Group in December 2022, Writing a Cover Letter from LinkedIn in May 2020, CPR & AED from the American Red Cross in July 2020, and First Aid from the American Red Cross in July 2020.
