Mei began their career at Gap Inc., where they served as a Senior Analyst from June 1998 to February 2000. Mei then joined Williams-Sonoma, Inc. as a Payroll Supervisor and Senior Accountant, managing a team responsible for processing a large volume of checks and ensuring accurate accounting procedures from June 2001 to February 2006. Mei's next role was at Redwood Trust, Inc., where they held multiple positions. Firstly, as a Payroll Associate from February to December 2006, then as an Assistant Vice President in HR, Payroll, Benefits & Stock Plan Administration from January 2007 to December 2011. In January 2011, they were promoted to Vice President of HR, Benefits & Stock Plan Administration, overseeing all HR functions, compensation, and benefits. Finally, in July 2014, Mei became Vice President of Corporate Compliance at Redwood Trust, Inc., successfully handling various compliance programs and collaborating with regulatory bodies.
