Matthew Van Avermaete has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Matthew began their career as an Undergraduate Researcher in Analytical and Materials Chemistry at The Ohio State University. Matthew gained experience in High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Electrospinning techniques.
Matthew then worked as a R&D Products Researcher Intern at Procter & Gamble in 2012, followed by a role as an R&D Process Design Engineer Intern in 2013. Matthew also completed a Co-op as a Supply Chain Customer Service Excellence Analyst at Unilever in 2014.
In the same year, they interned as a Manufacturing Engineering Associate at General Mills before joining the company full-time in 2015. Matthew held several roles at General Mills, including a Manufacturing & Engineering Associate, Startup Integration Lead, and a Process Engineer for Cereal Puff Extrusion and Coating Systems. Matthew achieved notable results in optimizing equipment settings, increasing production capacity, and successfully launching new products.
In 2018, Matthew became an Operations Platform Leader at General Mills, where they led a team responsible for end-to-end cereal and granola bar production. Matthew collaborated with R&D on new product rollouts and provided multiple capital project options for capacity optimization. In 2019, they joined Redzone Production Systems as a Production Systems Coach, focusing on delivering productivity improvements and implementing paperless quality systems at Food, Beverage, and CPG plants.
Throughout their career, Matthew has consistently demonstrated strong technical and leadership skills, achieving significant results in process optimization, project management, and team collaboration.
Matthew Van Avermaete obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from The Ohio State University. Matthew pursued their education at the university from 2010 to 2015.
