Michael Jacobs

Michael Jacobs is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in state tax issues. Currently, as a Partner at Reed Smith LLP since March 2007, Michael leads one of the nation's premier state tax practices, concentrating on state corporate income tax matters and related issues in mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings. Prior experience includes serving as Counsel in the state tax practice group at Dechert LLP from December 2003 to March 2007 and working as an Associate and Non-equity Partner in the Tax Practice at Choate, Hall & Stewart from December 1996 to November 2003, where the focus was on federal income tax and Massachusetts tax matters. Michael holds a JD from Harvard Law School (1992) and a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Yale University (1989).
