Omar Alaniz

Omar Alaniz is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as the Office Managing Partner and Partner at Reed Smith LLP since July 2020, with a prior tenure as Partner at Baker Botts LLP from September 2007 to July 2020, specializing in commercial bankruptcy and workouts as well as bankruptcy litigation. Alaniz has also contributed to academia as an Adjunct Faculty member at Southern Methodist University, teaching business and consumer bankruptcy from August 2006 to January 2012. Previous experience includes serving as a Law Clerk for The Honorable D. Michael Lynn at the United States Bankruptcy Court and as an Associate at Neligan Foley L.L.P.
