Struan Britland

Struan Britland is the Director of Legal Engineering at Reed Smith LLP since July 2022, specializing in alternative legal delivery and legal engineering. Previously, Struan served as Director of Legal Operations at Elevate, leading the Legal Services Team in Reed Smith's Global Solutions in Leeds, and was the Head of Legal Operations Solutions at Simmons & Simmons, where the focus was on re-engineering legal operations through multi-disciplinary teams. Struan's extensive experience also includes leading Legal Operations and Compliance at Arm and working as a Senior Solicitor in the Technology and Commerce Team at Mills & Reeve. Earlier roles include being an Associate at Field Fisher Waterhouse and a Trainee Solicitor at Mills & Reeve LLP. Struan has a background in education as a Professor at DuocUC and holds qualifications from the College of Law York and the University of Nottingham.
