Caroline Baumgaertner

Caroline Baumgaertner has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Caroline is currently the VP People and Talent Development at NSB GROUP, where they previously served as Head of People and Talent Development. Before joining NSB GROUP, they spent some time following their passion and intuition and brushing up their proficiency. Prior to that, Caroline worked as the Director Environmental Compliance Training at CSMART - Center for Simulator Maritime Training. Caroline also held the position of Director Maritime Training at Carnival Maritime GmbH. Caroline'searlier experience includes being the Head of Marine HR/Crewing at Hamburg Süd, Columbus Shipmanagement GmbH, where they led the Marine HR Department and was responsible for strategic planning, development, and continuous improvement. Caroline ensured safe manning of the fleet, developed competence profiles, liaised with the Superintendency for officer assignments, and provided 24/7 HR support. Caroline also served as a Crew-Manager for Aus- und Weiterbildung at Hamburg Süd.

Caroline Baumgaertner's education history begins in 1983 when they attended Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and obtained a Diplom in Geologie in 1990. After a gap of a few years, in 1996 they enrolled at Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Politik (HWP), Hamburg, where they pursued studies in Soziologie, earning unspecified qualifications in the field between 1996 and 2000.
