Vickie Phelps

Vickie Phelps has had a diverse work experience in the medical field. vickie started their career as a Histotechnologist at Pathology Reference Laboratory in 2007 and later joined Ameripath in 2009. In 2011, they became an Immunohistochemistry Tech at Methodist Health System. vickie then worked at Christus Children's Hospital starting in 2014, where they held various roles including HIstologist (HT)ASCP, HTL (ASCP) QIHC BS and HT(ASCP)QIHC. Most recently, they became the Department Head of Immunohistochemistry at Pathology Reference Laboratory in 2021.

Vickie Phelps has a diverse education history. vickie obtained their Bachelor's Degree Summa Cum Laude in Health Science from Kaplan University in the years 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2010, they attended Indiana University Bloomington, where they earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Histotechnology. Additionally, in 1982 to 1983, they completed a Certificate in Histotechnology at the UT Health Science Center School for Histotechnology.

In addition to their formal education, Vickie Phelps also holds two certifications. In March 2016, they obtained the HTL certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology, and in November 2015, they earned the QIHC certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification.
