Walter Ballheimer

Walter Ballheimer has a diverse work experience in the aerospace industry. Walter is currently the CEO of REFLEX aerospace, a position they have held since May 2021. In addition to this role, they are also a Mentor at SpaceFounders, providing guidance and support to emerging companies in the space sector.

Prior to their current positions, Walter served as the CEO of German Orbital Systems GmbH from October 2014 to March 2021. During their time there, the company became a prominent player in Europe, focusing on cost-effective nanosatellites for various applications.

Walter also held the position of CTO at EXOLAUNCH GmbH from October 2014 to February 2021, where they played a crucial role in the company's operations.

Before venturing into industry positions, Walter worked as a Spacecraft Payload Engineer at the Berlin Institute of Technology from April 2011 to April 2017. Walter was responsible for developing a novel thermal infrared payload for a nanosatellite project and worked on a modular payload system to expedite future remote sensing products.

Recently, in 2022, Walter joined UN:IO as a Non-Executive Director, where they contribute their expertise and insights to the organization.

Walter Ballheimer studied from 2004 to 2011 at Technische Universität Berlin, where they earned a Diplom degree in Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik, Aeronautik und Astronautik.
