Don Vernekohl

Don Vernekohl is a highly experienced professional in the field of radiation sensing and imaging, currently serving as a Senior Radiation Sensing Scientist/Engineer at RefleXion Medical since April 2022. Prior to this role, Don worked as an Imaging Scientist at Varex Imaging Corporation from July 2018 to April 2022, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Radiation Oncology at Stanford University from February 2015 to July 2018, focusing on image-guided radiation therapy and x-ray fluorescence computed tomography, while also engaging in clinical patient quality assurance and mentoring students. Earlier experience includes positions as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, where Don taught graduate and undergraduate physics labs and supervised students in research and thesis writing. Don holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Münster, where a Diploma in Physics was also obtained.
