Joseph Schornak

Joseph Schornak is a Senior Robotics Engineer at Reframe Systems, focusing on robotics and machine perception, particularly in motion planning for uncertain environments and high-resolution 3D reconstruction of challenging surfaces. They have previously held positions as a Research Engineer at Southwest Research Institute, where they developed intelligent ROS2-powered industrial robots, and as a Graduate Student Researcher at WPI AIM Lab, working on real-time needle tip detection for robotic-assisted procedures. Joseph has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Robotics Engineering, both of which they completed at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, respectively. Their early experience includes leading the Underwater Robotics Team at Rose-Hulman, where they achieved a commendable ranking in a national competition.
