Cody Hughes

Director of Product Design, Development, & Quality at RefrigiWear, Inc.

Cody Hughes began their career in 2004 as a Quality Engineering Intern at F&P Georgia. In this role, they gained first-hand knowledge of production processes including, stamping, welding, surface coating, assembly and shipping, as well as knowledge of how Quality works with these processes to improve efficiency and protect the organization from adverse events.

In 2009, Hughes joined Kids II as a Quality Engineering Manager. In this leadership role, they were tasked with directing the organization's quality strategy to ensure compliance, safety and quality for all of its products by leveraging a world-class quality management system to drive organizational excellence and improvement of the consumer experience. Theirresponsibilities included development and execution of quality systems to monitor KPIs and provide direction regarding overall quality levels, utilizing consumer experience data together with retailer warranty data to assess field performance, providing training to the organization on quality and process improvement methods, and re-engineering retailer defective data system to reduce processing time by over 85%.

In 2018, Hughes joined RefrigiWear, Inc. as Director of Product Design, Development, & Quality and Director of Quality. In these roles, they acted as the subject matter expert on quality, product safety, and regulatory compliance issues across the organization's range of products. Cody was responsible for directing the quality review process throughout the product development life cycle, including various review activities of concept drawings and samples against global regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards.

Cody Hughes holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Quality Management from Eastern Michigan University. Cody also has two certifications: Lean Foundations from LinkedIn obtained in April 2018 and Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA) from ASQ obtained in December 2015.
