RefrigiWear®

RefrigiWear was born in Inwood, New York City, USA in 1954 as a workwear brand to protect against worst cold conditions. Knowing very well the needs of workers involved in hostile jobs and in very cold environments, such as the food refrigerated storage industry, the brand developed the first real innovation in the field of insulating clothing, also thanks to the support of the newly born DuPont ™ textile fiber department. The garments were initially called "Weather-Alls" and represented an alternative to wearing heavy and uncomfortable wool jackets as well as several layers of bulky undergarments. From that moment, the brand followed a path of rapid growth in the United States until the 90s when an expert and enthusiast of original American brands discovered RefrigiWear and began to import it initially in the fashion industry starting from the Italian market, and subsequently throughout Europe and in the most peculiar Japanese research stores. The element that has always distinguished RefrigiWear garments is this unique way of creating a thermal insulation through a three-element "sandwich" made with the pairing of external fabric, thermal-insulation padding and internal breathable lining. These elements today, are still quilted vertically to create a unicum with which the garment is assembled. RefrigiWear's mission was and still is to create a comfortable insulating clothing resistant to the lowest temperatures for American workers of the industrial refrigeration business and to grant protection in any kind of environment and against any type of adversity. This iconic design, attitude and style is still today the brand’s fashion signature and is fully integrated in the brand values and DNA.
