John Lavery

John Lavery has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. John currently serves as the Head of Information Security & Technology at the Refugee Council, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Pobl Group as the Lead Application Architect from 2019 to 2023. Before that, they were an IT Project Manager at Chepstow Plant International Ltd. from 2018 to 2019. John also held the position of Business Systems Architect at Penspen from 2017 to 2018. John gained experience as a Senior IT Business Analyst at Valldata Services Ltd. from 2015 to 2017. Additionally, they worked for the UK Ministry of Defence in various roles such as Architecture Manager & Systems Engineer, Requirements Manager, and Information Service Manager. John has also worked at Sodexo as an IT Contractor.

John Lavery obtained a Higher National Diploma in Computer Engineering from Salisbury College in 2004 to 2006. John then pursued a BSc in Computing at City of Bath College from 2009 to 2011. Lastly, they completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Systems Engineering at Cranfield University from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, John Lavery holds certifications in ITIL Expert from AXELOS Global Best Practice, and has received training in Managing Successful Programmes and PRINCE2™ Foundation Certification from ISEB.
