Edward Bohnenstiehl

Edward Bohnenstiehl has extensive experience in the marine industry. Edward began their career in 2006 as a Marine Engineer at Fun in the Sun Yacht Charters, where they gained valuable knowledge in boat maintenance and repair. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Designer at Kerwin Naval Architects, contributing to vessel design and stability testing. Edward then joined Pininfarina Extra as an Industrial Designer, focusing on non-automotive transportation design. In 2009, they became a Project Coordinator and Lead Designer at QCI Marine, managing projects and maintaining client relationships in Brazil. In 2011, they worked as a Project Engineer at BRP, a leading recreational vehicle manufacturer. From 2012 to 2017, they served as Chief Designer at Regal Marine Industries, taking responsibility for developing new boat models and ensuring they were best in class. Since 2017, they have been the Principal Designer at Yacht Design Works, specializing in boat design, builds, and product development for the marine industry. Prior to their career in the marine industry, they served as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, carrying out various responsibilities in national defense, maritime law enforcement, search and rescue, and environmental protection.

Edward Bohnenstiehl received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design/Business from Auburn University, where they studied from 1999 to 2004. In 2006 to 2007, they pursued further education at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, earning another Bachelor of Science degree in Yacht & Marine Design. Additionally, Edward attended the U.S. Coast Guard Machinery Technician School for marine engineering, and they participated in the Select Reserve Officer Candidate Indoctrination program at the US Coast Guard Academy.
