Brendan O'Connor has extensive work experience in the finance industry. Brendan is currently the CEO and Managing Director at Regal Partners, a position they have held since June 2022. Prior to this, Brendan was the CEO of Regal Funds Management from December 2016 to June 2022.
Before their roles at Regal, Brendan worked at Challenger Limited for several years. Brendan served as the CFO of Funds Management from November 2008 to September 2016, where they supported the growth of the business and managed various finance functions. Brendan also held the position of CFO of Asset Management from September 2007 to October 2008, contributing to the growth strategy of Challenger's Asset Management business. Additionally, Brendan served as the GM of Group Finance from June 2006 to August 2007, where they built and led the finance function and implemented financial control policies.
Prior to their time at Challenger, Brendan worked at Westpac in various roles. Brendan was the Head of Finance, Financial Markets from December 2004 to May 2006, leading a team across product control, middle office, strategic change, and management reporting. Brendan also held the positions of Head of Business Performance from January 2003 to November 2004, managing performance targets and implementing business performance processes, and Group Controller from June 2001 to December 2002, responsible for accounting policies and financial reporting.
Brendan began their career at KPMG Australia, where they worked from January 1995 to June 2001. Brendan held the position of National Financial Services Manager from January 2000 to June 2001 and started as a graduate and progressed to Senior associate from January 1995 to December 1999.
