Catherine Mitchell

Catherine Mitchell serves as the Director of Publishing, Archives, and Digitization at the California Digital Library, University of California, since January 2006, driving innovative open access publishing solutions and aggregating digital collections. Other notable roles include Director of Publishing & Special Collections and Director of Publishing Services at HathiTrust, as well as membership on various committees such as the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association Program Steering Committee. Catherine's leadership in scholarly publishing is reflected in past board positions at Crossref and the Library Publishing Coalition, where Catherine served as Board President. An academic background includes a Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Berkeley, and an AB in English from the University of Chicago.
