Kwi Hye Kim has a diverse work experience in scientific research and development. Starting in 1998, they worked as an MS Student at Albany Medical College. From 2001 to 2008, they were a Ph.D. Student at UMDNJ, where they conducted in vivo studies on lysosomal storage disorders and developed receptor binding assays. Following that, from 2008 to 2011, they served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Mount Sinai Medical Center, focusing on neurogenesis modeling and the maintenance of human embryonic stem cells. Kwi Hye then joined Eli Lilly and Company as a Postdoctoral Scientist from 2011 to 2015, primarily working on modeling bipolar disorder using human iPSCs. After this, from 2015 to 2019, they worked at Cellular Dynamics International as a Senior Scientist, where they contributed to application development and served as a technical application scientist. Currently, since 2019, they are employed at REGENXBIO Inc., where they hold the position of Principal Scientist, Preclinical Development.
Kwi Hye Kim obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from SUNY New Paltz in 1994. In 1997, Kim completed an Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology at Midlands Technical College. Subsequently, Kim pursued a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences at Albany Medical College from 1998 to 2001. Lastly, Kim earned a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, completing the program from 2001 to 2008.
