Melissa Howard is a Crisis Prevention Specialist and Mental Health Therapist at Region 8 Mental Health Center. Prior to their current role, Melissa was an Assessment and Referral Counselor at Brentwood Behavioral Health and a Counselor/Case Manager at Bannum Place of Jackson, where Melissa worked with federal inmates transitioning back into society. Melissa has also worked as a Mental Health Counseling Intern at Brentwood Behavioral Health and as a Substance Abuse Counselor Intern at Recovery House. Melissa holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mississippi State University, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and an Associate's degree in Psychology from Hinds Community College.
