Alejandro Tellez

Alejandro Tellez is an international development professional with extensive experience in managing large-scale programs aimed at improving human security and addressing root causes of migration in Central America and Colombia. Currently serving as an International Development Professional with Independent since July 2025, Alejandro previously held key leadership roles, including Deputy Chief of Party Technical at FUPAD, where a $39.2 million USAID-funded program sought to strengthen local systems for enhanced human security. Other prominent positions include Chief of Party at Creative Associates International, overseeing a $34 million initiative addressing migration issues, and Country Director at HIAS, managing operations for Venezuelan refugees in Colombia. Alejandro's earlier roles include Deputy Chief of Party at Tetra Tech, Country Manager at Global Communities, and various managerial positions focusing on humanitarian assistance and policy design for internally displaced persons. Alejandro holds a degree from Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander.
