Amira Wohabrebbi

Director Clinical Research at Regional One Health

Amira Wohabrebbi, PhD, CCRP has a diverse work experience in the field of clinical research and development. Amira is currently the Director of Clinical Research at Regional One Health since May 2016. Prior to this, they founded and owned ClearEdge Scientific & Regulatory Consulting, LLC from July 2012 to April 2016, where they provided consulting and contract services to pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies.

Amira also worked at Medtronic Spine & Biologics from October 2009 to June 2012, where they served as a Senior R&D Scientist and Product Development Leader for drug-eluting medical implants. Amira also held roles as a Program Manager for biopharmaceutical therapy development and an R&D Scientist for research and development leadership during their time at Medtronic.

Before their industry experience, Amira worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center from April 2004 to September 2006, conducting prostate cancer biomarker discovery research. Amira also briefly served as an Adjunct Faculty at LeMoyne-Owen College in 2005, teaching natural science and computer science courses. Prior to that, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center from 1998 to 1999, assisting in the administration of Anatomy and Neurobiology courses.

Amira Wohabrebbi, PhD, CCRP holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Amira also obtained a BSN (Clinical Degree in Nursing) from the same institution. In addition, they hold a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from LeMoyne-Owen College. Amira has a Regulatory Affairs Certificate from RAPS Online University, specializing in US and Global Regulatory Affairs. Amira is a Registered Nurse with a Multi-State Licensure from the Tennessee Department of Health. Amira is also a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP), a credential awarded by the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA).
