Andrew Harvey

Andrew is a consultant working with clients in both the public and private sectors on communications, change management and governance.

He also has commercial experience as an executive board member across a range of sectors including passenger transport, professional services and property.

Other interests outside his non-executive director role at RoS include Non-Executive Director at the Costs Lawyer Standards Board and at Northumbria Students’ Union. He is also Panel Chair for Mental Health Act appeals at the Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Trust, Deputy Chair of the Investigating Committee at the General Pharmaceutical Council, a Chair of Fitness to Practise panels at the Nursing and Midwifery Council and a Member of the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal in Ireland. Andrew is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

His proudest achievement over his career so far is leading the team which set up the initial call centre for Virgin Trainline. It has since grown to be the largest online ticket retailer in the UK.

He adds the most rewarding part of his role at RoS is working with staff as the organisation undergoes its digital transformation programme. He believes the public will be able to “see and feel that commitment and it will have a positive impact on their experience of Registers of Scotland”.

Andrew says the most interesting fact he has learned about RoS is the range of records and documents the organisation is responsible for on behalf of the people of Scotland. He adds: “I’d like to spend time understanding more about the Chancery and Judicial registers. Each register reflects the life of Scotland and the changes over the centuries”.
