Rachel Salansky

Sign Language Interpreter at Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf

Rachel Salansky is an experienced interpreter with a strong background in American Sign Language (ASL). Currently serving as a VRS Interpreter and Community Interpreter at Sorenson Communications since July 2022, Rachel has also fulfilled the role of Sign Language Interpreter for the Saint Tammany Parish School Board since September 2018. Freelance ASL interpreting has been undertaken since October 2019, while Rachel has been associated with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. since May 2015. Previous experience includes interpreting at Delgado Community College from September 2016 to October 2022 and working as a nanny at Nurture Nannies from August 2014 to September 2016. Rachel completed an ASL interpreting program at Delgado Community College and participated in a summer non-major program at Gallaudet University, alongside holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Louisville and a brief period of study at Savannah College of Art and Design.
