Amy Thompson

Amy Thompson is an experienced operations and human resources professional currently serving as the Director of Operations at REI since July 2024 and as a Human Resources Lead for a self-employed retail gardening boutique since December 2023. Prior to these roles, Amy was the Vice President of Operations at Refuel Operating Company, LLC from January 2022 to October 2023, where strategies were developed to enhance operational efficiency across over 250 convenience stores and restaurants. Amy also held multiple key positions at Starbucks between November 2014 and January 2022, including Regional Director of Operations, where leadership spanned 140 locations and 5000 partners, and Regional Human Resources Manager, overseeing talent and succession planning for over 12,000 employees across 420 stores. In an interim capacity, Amy led human resources for 800 stores, managing a significant workforce of over 40,000 employees in the Western Mountain Region.
