Senaka Balasuriya

Senaka Balasuriya has a diverse work experience in product management, technology leadership, and engineering management. Currently, they serve as the Director of Product Management at Rekor since 2022. Prior to that, they volunteered as the Chief Technology Officer at Helpful in 2021. From 2017 to 2021, they worked at Badger Technologies, initially as an Engineering Management & Architecture professional and later transitioning to a role in product management. Senaka also served as the Director at SolidBase in 2017 and as a Senior Product Manager at Syniverse from 2015 to 2017. Senaka has an extensive history at Motorola (later Google) where they held various roles, including Senior Manager in Advanced Technology & Innovation, Lead Technology Strategist, and Software Engineer. Notably, during their time at Motorola, they developed next-generation mobile wireless standards, conducted patent infringement analysis, managed patent portfolios, and fostered innovation within the division. Prior to Motorola, Senaka worked as the Principal of Strategy and Product Innovation at Constratus (Verizon Wireless) from 2005 to 2015.

Senaka Balasuriya has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Additionally, they hold a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University at Buffalo Graduate School. Senaka also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the State University of New York.
