Ben Hookway has over 15 years of experience in the tech industry. From 2000 to 2014, they held various positions in the industry. In 2000, they were the Director of Channel Sales at Critical Path. In 2001, they were the VP of Sales at Mindfabric. In 2002, they were the Director of Channel Sales at Formfill. In 2003, they were the Director of Sales and Interim MD at Nascent Form Ltd. In 2004, they were the CEO and Founder at Next Device Ltd, a company specializing in advanced 3D user interface technology for mobile phones. In 2006, they were the Director of Business Development for Mobile at Mentor Graphics. In 2009, they were the CEO at Vidiactive, a company that creates new ways to access and view Web TV. In 2012, they were the Founder of Etherow and a Board Member at Techhub. From 2014 to present, they have been the CEO of Relative Insight, a text analytics platform that extracts business intelligence from all first and third party data.

Ben Hookway attended Edinburgh University from 1990 to 1995, where they earned a BSc in Resource Management.
