Gavin Liu

Gavin Liu is a Sr. Structures Engineer at Relativity Space, specializing in interstage structures since September 2023. Previously, as Structures Lead at Firefly Aerospace from June 2021 to September 2023, Gavin was responsible for the Elytra program, overseeing the development of requirements, loads, manufacturing processes, and structural designs. Prior experience includes serving as a Structural Analyst for the Blue Ghost lunar lander program, and a Research Assistant at Stanford University focusing on structurally integrated Li-ion batteries. Additional internships with NASA involved composite design for lunar modules and cryogenic propellant systems, while earlier work at Aerojet Rocketdyne and educational roles contributed to foundational expertise in structural dynamics and robotics. Gavin holds a Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University.
