Yu Matsutomi

Senior Principal Propulsion Engineer at Relativity Space

Yu Matsutomi is a seasoned propulsion engineer with extensive experience in the aerospace industry, currently serving as a Senior Principal Propulsion Engineer at Relativity Space since March 2020, where leadership in engine development has resulted in successful acceptance tests and the inaugural flight of the AeonOne program on the Terran-R vehicle. Previously, Yu held various roles at BLUE ORIGIN from 2011 to February 2020, including BE-4 Deputy Program Manager, where collaboration with program managers and chief engineers facilitated BE-4 development and customer alignment. Additional experience includes leading test teams for the BE-4 engine and managing sponsored projects at Purdue University prior to joining the aerospace sector. Yu holds an engineering degree from Purdue University, awarded between 2001 and 2009.
