Mike Somerville

Mike Somerville has over 20 years of experience in various roles within the IT and business fields. Mike is currently serving as the Director of Delivery at RemedyBiz, Inc., where they utilize their expertise to ensure peak performance and flawless delivery across customer engagements.

Prior to their current role, Mike held positions at Appsential, where they served as the Director from July 2019 to May 2021, and as a Senior Project Manager from June 2013 to July 2019.

From 2010 to 2019, they were the Principal & Owner of Wingman LLC, providing strategic visualizations and technical communications to unite teams around a shared understanding of the problem and enable more effective operations.

In 2010, Mike also worked at TecSec as a Product Architect / Systems Engineer, responsible for deriving functional design from business and customer needs and providing implementation guidance to engineers and developers.

Mike started their career at Lockheed Martin in 2003 as a Senior Systems Engineer, where they played a key role in architectural support, technical leadership, customer engagement, and system roadmap management.

Before that, they co-founded Ceratile, Inc., a web-based start-up company specializing in online distribution of ceramic tile and associated products.

Mike's early career includes a role at Attronica as a Hardware Integrator, where they earned a CompTia A+ Certified Hardware Integrator certification.

Throughout their career, Mike has built strong relationships with team members, management, subcontractors, external stakeholders, customers, users, and other partners.

Mike Somerville has a strong educational background in various fields. In 1999, they earned an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration from Montgomery College. Mike then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Decision & Information Science with a focus on Management Science & Statistics from the University of Maryland, completing their studies in 2003. Later, from 2005 to 2009, Mike attended The Johns Hopkins University, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering.

Additionally, Mike has acquired several certifications throughout their career. In 1998, they obtained the A+ Certification from CompTia. The following year, in 1999, they received the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification from Microsoft Corporation. In 2013, they obtained the ITIL Foundation certification from ITIL. Most recently, in 2019, they achieved the prestigious Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
