Richard Lapington has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry. Richard began their career at Crucible Studio in 2004, where they worked as a Sound Designer, Game Designer, and Actionscript Programmer until 2006. Richard then moved on to Midway Games, where they served as a Sound Designer from 2006 to 2008. Following that, Lapington joined Bugbear Entertainment as an Audio Designer from 2008 to 2010. Since then, they have been working at Remedy Entertainment Plc, starting as an Audio Lead from 2010 to 2016, then transitioning to a Narrative Lead role from 2016 to 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Audio, starting in January 2021.

Richard Lapington completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Jazz Performance Studies from Leeds College of Music, from 1995 to 1998. Richard then pursued a Diploma in Audio Engineering from SAE Institute Amsterdam in 2003. Later, from 2004 to 2006, they attained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in New Media Studies from Taideteollinen korkeakoulu - Konstindustriella högskolan.
