Tero Virtala

Tero Virtala (b. 1974) holds a Master’s degree in engineering and has acted as the CEO since August 2016. He has extensive and comprehensive experience in the game industry and management of game companies. During 1999–2002, Virtala held the position of Management Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in corporate strategy and change management in the IT, telecom and media industry.

During 2002–2015, Virtala served as the CEO of RedLynx Ltd. Until 2011, RedLynx operated independently, growing into a successful company comprising of several game teams. RedLynx was acquired by the international gaming giant Ubisoft (EPA: UBI) in 2011. During 2011–2015, Virtala served as the Managing Director of RedLynx, participating in Ubisoft’s international development projects simultaneously. Subsequently, Virtala served as an independent business and management consultant for a year prior to taking on the duties of Remedy’s CEO.
