Thomas MacAllister, JD, PhD has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Thomas has held the position of Vice President of R&D and General Counsel at multiple companies, including Woolsey Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Learmont Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Martin Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and Remedy Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Before joining these companies, Thomas worked as a Principal at TWM Pharmaceutical Consulting, where they provided consulting services for pharmaceutical and biotech clients, focusing on the development of patent, regulatory, product development, and product life-cycle strategies.

Prior to their consulting role, Thomas served as the Chief Development Officer at Besins Healthcare, where they were responsible for global R&D, business development, medical and scientific affairs, and intellectual property. Thomas oversaw all global partnering transactions and evaluated projects for advancement in the R&D pipeline.

Thomas also founded BHR Pharma, LLC, an independent R&D company funded by Besins Healthcare, where they served as President & CEO. Thomas identified and acquired projects for development and oversaw all strategy development and execution.

Earlier in their career, Thomas held the position of Senior Vice President & General Counsel at Ascend Therapeutics, the US commercial arm of Besins Healthcare. Thomas played a crucial role in building the US commercial arm and negotiated major transactions, including the acquisition of key products.

Thomas started their career as an Associate at Foley & Lardner, where they gained legal experience.

Throughout their career, Thomas has demonstrated expertise in legal activities, including patent prosecution and enforcement, as well as partnering activities, fundraising, strategy development, and execution.

Thomas MacAllister, JD, PhD has an impressive education history. Thomas began their academic journey at Woodbridge Senior High School, where they completed their secondary education from 1978 to 1982. Following this, they attended James Madison University from 1982 to 1986, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Biochemistry.

Driven by their interest in the field, Thomas pursued further education and enrolled at Duke University from 1987 to 1991. During this time, they successfully completed their studies and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Biology.

Thomas continued to expand their knowledge in the legal domain by attending The George Washington University Law School from 1995 to 1998. Thomas focused on legal studies and achieved a Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

In addition to their academic achievements, Thomas MacAllister has obtained a certification as a Divemaster (DM) from PADI in June 2013. This certification further demonstrates their dedication to learning and expanding their skill set beyond the traditional academic realm.
