Yifei Cheng

Yifei Cheng has been working in the software engineering industry since 2009. From 2009 to 2014, they held various internships, including positions as an Advanced Energy Systems Engineer at General Motors, a Mechatronics Engineer at Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, a Control System Designer at Powerhouse Controls, and an Instrumentation Engineering Assistant at Saipem S. p. A. In 2014, they became a Senior Software Developer at Kindred Powered by Ocado. In 2022, they took a role as a Senior Software Engineer at Nuro, where they developed strategies that allowed autonomous vehicles to handle contingency situations and applied computer vision and digital signal processing for detection of rare events. In 2023, they moved to Remedy Robotics as a Senior Software Engineer.

Yifei Cheng received their Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2014. Yifei has also obtained several certifications, including Self-Driving Cars from Coursera in 2023, Neural Networks and Deep Learning from Coursera in 2017, and Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates in 2016.
