Shazmah Hakim

Shazmah Hakim has extensive work experience in the legal field, primarily in the hospitality industry. Shazmah most recently served as the Chief Legal Officer at Remington Hospitality. Before that, they were the Senior Vice President and General Counsel at More Development.

Prior to their current roles, Shazmah worked at Marriott International for several years, starting as the Vice President & Assistant General Counsel/Practice Group Leader, where they oversaw legal affairs related to global brands, marketing, sales, and consumer insights. Shazmah also served as the Vice President & Senior Counsel in the Development and Real Estate Group at Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation.

Earlier in their career, Shazmah worked at Kingdom Hotel Investments as the Senior Vice President & General Counsel, responsible for legal matters for luxury hotels and resorts worldwide. Shazmah also held positions at Marriott International as the Vice President & Senior Counsel for United Kingdom, Middle East, and Africa Lodging Operations, as well as at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP as an Associate in the Corporate/Project Finance Group.

Shazmah Hakim has a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in International Law and Legal Studies from The George Washington University Law School, which was obtained from 1995 to 1998. Additionally, Shazmah Hakim holds a Master's Degree in International Politics and Business from New York University, earned from 1991 to 1993. Furthermore, Shazmah Hakim completed a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations and Affairs from Scripps College from 1987 to 1991. Moreover, Shazmah Hakim obtained Bar Admissions for both New York and the District of Colombia in 1998.
