Ed Johnson

Ed Johnson is an experienced professional in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) and capital markets sectors, currently serving as SVP of Business Development for EMEA and APAC at RenaissanceRe since December 2025. Prior to this role, Ed Johnson was the Head of Business Development for Alternative Capital Partners at Swiss Re from August 2017 to December 2025, where responsibilities included leading a global team to foster new and manage existing relationships in ILS investment management. Previous experience includes positions such as Head of ILS Sales for EMEA and APAC and Vice President of ILS Structurer at Leadenhall Capital Partners LLP, Business Development at Aon, and actuarial analyst roles at LCP. Ed Johnson began his career with a summer analyst position at J.P. Morgan and a junior data analyst role at CloudMade. Ed Johnson holds a BSc in Economics with Statistics from UCL and A Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Economics from Bedford School.
