Mathias Borjesson

Mathias Borjesson is an accomplished insurance professional with extensive experience in risk management and underwriting. Currently serving as Senior Vice President of Underwriting at RenaissanceRe since March 2019, Mathias established a new Risk Advisory team to enhance the company's leadership in risk across various reinsurance classes. Previously, as Senior Vice President of Corporate Risk, Mathias led a team focused on risk modeling and exposure management for the Casualty & Specialty business segment. Prior experience includes serving as Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management at Tokio Millennium Re AG, where Mathias headed the Risk & Capital Modelling function and developed a global framework for business planning and portfolio construction. Mathias began the career in various actuarial consultancy and contracting roles, specializing in reserving, pricing, and capital modeling. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics, both from the University of Warwick.
