Kidney failure is a life-threatening and life-long disease. Most patients with the disease will rely on dialysis treatments carried out at dialysis clinics or at home for the rest of their lives. Increasing demand for dialysis poses substantial patient data, management, and operational challenges for clinics with paper-based systems. Current electronic health record (EHR) software are often beyond budgets, require significant vendor support for on-site installation and integration with other software in a clinic. RenalWorks founded 2018 has significant experience digitalising dialysis clinics. The company is developing a cloud-based software for clinics seeking a convenient, easily accessible, and cost-effective clinical management system to organise the recording and management of patient information and streamline clinic work processes. The software is designed for nurses to quickly record, access and manage important information during dialysis sessions in the proximity of patients and make them available in real-time across a clinic and remotely for patient care. By creating a ‘single source of truth’, the software enables doctors to quickly access their patients' health records for timely management. In addition, it eliminates compartmental data silos and ensures the same data are used for patient and clinic management.
